Control of air conditioning systems above 12 KW

1.   What is the purpose of this audit?

The objective is to encourage air conditioning systems owners to optimize the energy performance to generate savings!
For this, it is evaluated the performance of the air conditioning system and the sizing compared to the building cooling requirements in which the system operates.

After inspection, the owner of the air conditioning system has a report with recommendations on the proper use and possible improvements.

2.   What are the facilities impacted by this inspection?

The installations concerned are those which lower the temperature of the air, the cooling capacity is more than 12 kW:

Two types of systems are concerned:
  • Simple systems: all air conditioning systems and heat pumps reversible with effective rated cooling capacity is> 12 kW eg a split-system.
  • "Complex" systems: all air conditioning systems, and reversible heat pumps whose effective rated cooling output is> 100 kW for example Cold Group supplying a chilled water network

Last minute

The Ministry has recently confirmed that inspections were not limited solely to climate comfort, but applied to all systems lowering the air temperature is integrating industrial cold, that is to say, among other things:
  • Cold rooms,
  • The process of local climate,

3.  Where do we find such facilities?

Air conditioning systems> 12 kilowatts is virtually found in all businesses, whatever the sector of activity:
You will usually find complex systems (> 100 kW) when the establishment has a chilled water network, for example:
  • a hypermarket
  • a hospital
  • cinema complex
  • an industrial site
  • an office tower
You will find simple systems from 12 to 100 KW in:
  • a small apartment building
  • a set of at least 10 stores
  • under a 100-room hotel
  • a retirement home
  • a small set of offices

4.  What is the inspection?

The inspection is to perform the following steps:
  • Documentary inspection (technical manuals, operating documents, ...)
  • Performance evaluation is made from the anomalies identified during the site inspection
  • Sizing of the evaluation is made from constructive data and building use
  • Providing recommendations on:the proper use of the existing system and possible improvements to the entire system.
  • the possible interest of the replacement of the existing system and alternative solutions.
These services are provided by a certified speaker.

5.  What are the strengths of the offer Apave?

  • A structured report for each facility, together with a share of pragmatic recommendations and also a note on the energy label type equipment real decision support tool in the presence of a park with many facilities .
  • Interventions respectful of your operating constraints
  • Good coverage of French territory, including overseas departments
  • The technical quality of our stakeholders
  • Our ability, through our offer Technical Assistance to support you afterwards in the implementation of improvement actions
